The chess online series “Karabakh IS Azerbaijan”, which was conducted by Chess.Az with NAR support. In the struggle between 10 chess players in the big final, Elnur Mehtiyev took the first place. The second and third place, respectively, was occupied by Ismail Gurbanov and Shakhriyar Rakhmanov. The first three chess players were awarded NAR special prizes.
A total of 264 chess players from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and India took part in the two-month series. In a series of 8 tournaments and the big finals, each tournament was named after the region, freed from the occupation during the Great Patriotic War. The series took place on the Lichess.org chess platform.
