Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Sakhil Babaev noted that the delivery of another rehabilitation institution in our country – the Gabalasky Children’s Rehabilitation Center for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities – is another manifestation of a special concern to President Ilham Aliyev about disabled children and children with disabilities. The Minister noted that in 2019-2020, 12 rehabilitation and social service agencies were overhauled, reconstructed, equipped with the most modern equipment and commissioned. For the 11 months of this year, more than 7,500 disabled services were provided in the ministry’s rehabilitation institutions. More than 8 thousand people with disabilities were provided with more than 40 thousand prosthetic and orthopedic and other means of rehabilitation.

Sakhil Babayev stressed that the opening of new rehabilitation centers and the expansion of their capabilities due to the modernization of the rehabilitation system will increase the annual number of persons receiving rehabilitation services, 3 times and bring them up to 30 thousand.

Also, based on musical and labor therapy, special habits will be given to children with disabilities.
