Chinese ambassador to the USA Qin Gan was called to the White House in connection with the situation around Taiwan, writes The Washington Post, citing a statement by strategic communications coordinator in the White House of John Kirby.
“After the night actions of China, we called Qin Ghan’s ambassador to the White House to express a protest in connection with the provocative actions of the PRC. We condemn the military operations of the PRC, they are irresponsible and contradict our long -standing goals to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait”, – says in the statement.
The White House also confirmed the ambassador that he wanted to maintain all the lines of communication open and that nothing has changed in the policy of the United States regarding “one China”, but the White House also emphasized that he considers Beijing’s actions unacceptable.
