China and India reduce effectiveness of anti -Russian sanctions?

Chinese and Indian importers increase oil procurement from Russia, which leads to a decrease in the effectiveness of anti -Russian sanctions, writes the Japanese newspaper Nikkei.

According to her data, the PRC in May daily purchased 800 thousand barrels delivered by sea by sea oil, the corresponding indicator increased by 40% compared to January. In turn, the level of procurement of this resource India in May reached 700 thousand barrels per day, although in January such deliveries were not made.

As the publication notes, the United States and Europe urge China and India to refrain from procurement of Russian oil, but cheap Russian resources “provide them with significant economic advantages against the backdrop of global growth in energy prices”.
