China And Turkmenistan Launched First Direct Motor Transport Route On TIR System

The first Tir truck with Zhengzhou settled (the administrative center of the Chinese province of Henan) to the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat, which marked the opening of a direct motor transport communication between China and Turkmenistan for the international TIR system, the Sinhua agency.

“This is the first time when the Chinese motor transport company began to carry out direct automobile cargo transportation between China and Turkmenistan,” said Ouyan Lyanjuan, deputy chief of the Cynzhuyan Customs Customs.

Meanwhile, Van Tu, Deputy General Director of Zhengzhou Hongyi Transportation Co, LTD said that the FURA loaded with clerical accessories crossed the state border through the Horgos highway to the Xinjiang-Uyghur Autonomous District (Suar), after which it will move through Kazakhstan and proceeds through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to get to Ashgabat. “The entire route with a length of about 6 thousand kilometers will take 9 days,” said Van T.

According to him, the Tir Marsit “Zhenszhou-Ashhabad” will reduce transport costs by about 35 % compared to air transportation and halve the delivery time compared to rail.

This TIR route starts from the Henan collective-distribution center located in the economic zone of Zhengzhou Airport. To date, the Center is serving 18 TIR marchruts connecting China with nine countries, including Russia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

TIR (Transports International Routiers) is an international system that simplifies cargo transportation between countries. Within the framework of this system, the cargo is sealed at the starting point of the route and is checked only upon arrival at the destination, and at the intermediate border crossing, the checkpoint employees only check the TIR books and the customs seal for the vehicle. This reduces the time of transportation and reduces possible risks associated with administrative procedures for customs control and damage to cargo.
