The new head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Qin Gan held a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and expressed his readiness to improve relations between the two countries.
During the conversation, the minister recalled that he had several “frank, thorough and constructive” meetings with Mr. Blinken, when Qin Gan held the position of Ambassador of the PRC.
“We hope for the improvement and development of the Chinese -American relations,” – the words of the Chief of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China are given on the website of the department.
Qin Ghana was appointed minister on December 30. From 2005 to 2010, he worked as an official representative of the PRC Foreign Ministry, then he went to the UK, and in 2011-2015 he headed the Department of Information and Press of the Foreign Policy Department.
