China made a successful launch of the space base observatory for the Sun (ASO-S) from the Zyutsyuan cosmodrome in the northwest, the Sinhua agency reports.
The new satellite for the study of the Sun was launched using the Changzhen-2G launch vehicle (Long March-2D) and went to a given orbit.
The space base observatory will be mainly used to study causal relationships between solar flashes, coronal emissions of the masses and the magnetic field of the Sun, as well as to obtain the data necessary for forecasting space weather.
