On the eve of the visit of Taiwan Foreign Minister to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Official Beijing warned that China will take “all the necessary measures to protect its sovereignty,” reports Reuters.
China, who considers Taiwan by its territory, considers the visit of Taiwanese officials to other countries as hidden support for the island, which claims to recognize.
Earlier it was reported that Taiwan Foreign Minister Joseph Wu will visit the Czech Republic and Slovakia next week. In particular, it was reported that in Prague there are meetings of Wu with the speaker of the Upper House of Parliament of the Czech Republic with a cute crayon and the mayor of the capital Zhenek wise.
In turn, the representative of the Foreign Ministry of China Van Wenbin said they would “closely monitor the events.”
Recall that the relationship was worse between China and Lithuania after the latter agreed with Taiwan on the opening of embassies in each other’s capitals.
Due to China’s pressure, many countries do not want to take high-ranking Taiwan’s ministers, although Joseph Wu in 2019 visited Denmark to speak on Copenhagen Summit Democracy.
