The first heads of negotiations on Moldova’s entry into the European Union will be open next year.
This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova on European integration Kristina Gerasimova, Moldovan State Media reports.
First, the European commission will report how much the legislation of the Republic of Moldova meets the criteria for joining the EU, then the decision will be made by national governments, she explained.
According to Gerasimova, at the moment the bilateral screening continues and will end in four months. “In the first group of chapters, we hope that somewhere in January this report will be submitted to the Council, after which the decision will follow,” said the Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova.
In Chisinau expresses the hope that in the first months of next year we will begin real negotiations, said Christina Gerasimova.
Brussels and international partners pledged to finance the investment plan in the economy in the amount of one and a half billion euros, she continued.
“At the moment, the Republic of Moldova has access to instruments intended for member countries, but the preparation funds for entry will be opened in the next budget cycle, after three years. Even if the tool for negotiations has not yet been provided, these means We must be available to us even further, together with the European commission, the government is working on a national plan of economic growth, ”Gerasimova said.
The first heads of negotiations that will be open include justice, democracy, public administration, finance and economics.
