Khristo Grozhev, Executive Director of the journalistic investigative group Bellingcat, publicly turned to law enforcement agencies, proposing assistance and cooperation in the investigation of the alleged poisoning of the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili. “I am sure that they [law enforcement agencies of Georgia] are interested in this investigation. We are ready to help if they are ready to share data with us – any movement of suspicious people, crossing the border and all that, in their opinion, need to be checked additionally “, – said Grozev.
According to Grozhev, the journalists got acquainted with the conclusion of an American toxicologist, studied the available data, consulted with biochemists and came to the conclusion that the version of Saakashvili’s poisoning with heavy metals is the most likely. Grosev also considers the “Russian trace” likely, since Saakashvili is part of the circle of personal enemies of the Russian authorities and special services.
Mikhail Saakashvili on January 4 addressed Grozev with a request to investigate his possible poisoning.
