The study published in the journal Science Advances was prepared using an audit of pollution by plastic and data from 84 countries from 2018 to 2022.
The study says that almost half of the waste studied was unclear, “which company they were produced”, and Coca Cola and Pepsico were noted as world -famous brands that cause plastic pollution, in the amount of 11 and 5 percent, respectively.
These brands that cause pollution of plastic are followed by Nestle and Danone with 3 percent and Altria with 2 percent.
These companies account for almost 25 percent of the detected waste.
Researcher Tony Walker on this occasion said: “These companies are one of the largest in the world and have access to all countries of the world.”
