Colombia: Five Military Personnel Were Killed As Result Of Terrorist Attack

In Colombia, five military personnel were killed as a result of a terrorist attack, three more military personnel and civilians were injured.

According to local media, the group of military personnel was the target of the attack, patrolling the surrounding area of the city of Anori in the Antiokia department.

The responsibility for the explosion is assigned to the fronts of Dario Ramirez Castro and Martinese under the armed rebel organization Army of National Liberation (Spanish Ejército de Liberaacioon Nacational, Eln).

The Columbia Army announced the beginning of a large -scale operation to capture the organizers of the attack.

The Minister of Internal Affairs Juan Fernando Christo harshly condemned the attack, assuring the army to take the necessary steps.

Christo pointed out that Eln preferred violence instead of negotiations. “ELN does not have a final and a single decision to abandon the use of weapons of violence. On the one hand, ELN speaks of a negotiating table, and on the other hand, is harmful to our armed forces and civilian population. It seems that ELN is not interested in the world, and I am with hatred I condemn this attack, ”the head of the department added.

ELN stands out as the most active rebel organization in the country after the revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), which previously laid down weapons. Operates in rural areas of Colombia and has more than 2 thousand functionaries.
