Operation on concreting the dome part of the external protective shell of the building of the Block reactor No. 1 of the Akkui nuclear power plant completed.
According to Rosatom, two tower taps, six concrete -distributing arrows and 34 car reinforcements were involved in the performance of the work.
Work on concreting the dome of the external protective shell (NZO) was carried out in four stages and took 104 days. In total, 3511 cubic meters of a high -strength self -compound concrete mixture were laid in this part of the NZO.
General Director of Akkui Nuclear JSC Sergey Butsky noted that the outer protective shell is one of the main security systems of the power unit.
“A strong reinforced concrete structure will reliably protect the reactor installation from external influences. The completion of the NPO concreting will allow us to start the installation of another important element of the security of the nuclear power plant – the passive excretion of heat,” he commented.
The outer protective shell of the reactor building is formed from the reinforced concrete and designed in such a way as to withstand even the strongest effects of the elements: earthquakes up to 9 balls on the MSK-64 scale and hurricanes up to 60 m/s.
