For several weeks in Azerbaijan, as in most countries of the world, there is a sharp decrease in incidence of coronavirus. A few months ago, thousands of new cases of infection were registered in Azerbaijan. Over the last days, according to the estimated headquarters, this indicator does not exceed 30. As a result, quarantine measures are alleviated and gradually cancel. The Cabinet of Ministers, for example, was canceled on the eve of the decision on the obligatory conducting PCR test for passengers arriving in Azerbaijan. What happens – the virus finally gives the position? Either the situation is temporary?
Expert of the Ministry of Health, the infectious physician Tyathar Euvazov infectiously informed Haqqin.az that the threat of coronavirus is preserved, so it is not worth losing a vigilance anyway.
According to the infectiousnessist, while the situation is quite stable. However, it is not known how new virus mutations will behave in the coming months. “In some countries there is an increase in infections. Experience shows that each new wave is usually caused by mutating strain. A new strain can exit from under control. Therefore, new waves of infection can be observed,” Evazov believes.
The expert said that a new mutation of the Omikron strain was discovered, which now extends in some countries. “Therefore, it is clear to say that Coronavirus completely disappeared, early. Vigilance cannot be lost,” – expert warns.
Eyvazov commented on the removal of some coronavirus restrictions in Azerbaijan. According to him, the wave of infections into Azerbaijan usually “passes” from neighboring countries. And today, in neighboring states with Azerbaijan, the number of infections decreased, the situation is satisfactory. “For some time it will be stable. But about May-June, for example, it is too early to talk. You need to see how new strains behave. While there is little about them, it is clear only one thing – they are more infectious than the previous ones,” the infectiousist said .
According to the World Health Organization, 70 percent of the world’s population should be vaccinated to protect against mutating strains. This goal has not yet been reached. Euvazov said that new virus mutations will appear in the world, because vaccination did not reach the desired level.
