In analyzes conducted in Azerbaijan, the influenza infection was not recorded, said expert expert of the Ministry of Health, infectious disease doctor Tayyar Eyvazov, answering Haqqin.az questions on the ministry page on Instagram.
According to the expert, the number of infection with coronavirus in Azerbaijan has decreased. But the pandemic continues, and it is unclear whether the situation will worsen in the coming months. Therefore, WHO has not yet announced the end of the pandemic.
“In this case, it is possible to infect both coronavirus and flu. At this time, the patient’s condition may worsen due to lung lesions. When infected with the influenza virus, two types of complications can occur. The first signs of complications are manifested in the initial 3 days of the disease,” – Said Eyvazov.
According to the doctor, the influenza virus can cause meningitis, muscle destruction and inflammation of the heart muscle. The second complication appears on the 4th – 5th day of the disease. At this time, bacterial pneumonia, inflammation of the middle ear, kidneys may occur. Influenza is life -threatening, sometimes leads to fatal outcome. Therefore, treatment should not be neglected, the doctor advises.
The infectious disease specialist also indicated that the flu is a disease that occurs in all age groups: “The infection is quickly spreading among children, among those who go to kindergarten and school.
