The Turkish cosmonaut Alpers Goseravji is experiencing happiness and pride in the fact that he was the honor to fulfill the first space mission of his country.
“The first 100 years of the existence of the Turkish Republic were left behind. It is very pleasant to fulfill and be a model for imitation in such a mission that will allow the future generations of our country to expand the boundaries of their dreams into the depths of the cosmos,” Goseravji said in an interview with Anadola.
The 74th International Congress of Astronautics, organized by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and Platinum Sponsor, Turkish Space Agency (TUA), continues in Baku.
Goseravji, selected by the first Turkish traveler in space, also takes part in the event in the Azerbaijani capital.
“Turkey and Azerbaijan are two fraternal countries with a common destiny,” Goseravji said, noting Azerbaijan’s professionalism in organizing such a large -scale event as Congress.
“Azerbaijan has formed a very favorable atmosphere for Congress. Such an event was already held 50 years ago. Azerbaijan is a country that was able to transfer this knowledge and experience to today’s conditions. I hope that in the coming years we will have the opportunity to see a citizen of Azerbaijan in space, ”said the astronaut.
According to Goseravji, awareness in the field of astronautics in Azerbaijan is at the highest level.
Speaking of his feelings in connection with the upcoming flight into space, the astronaut said that he was not experiencing unrest with the approach of this date.
“We have long been psychologically prepared for this project, for the implementation of this mission. There is only one emotion that has not decreased to the slightest degree – this is happiness and pride. The first 100 years of the existence of the Turkish Republic remained behind. It is very nice to fulfill and is very nice To be a model for imitation in such a mission that will allow future generations of our country to expand the boundaries of their dreams into the depths of the cosmos, ”concluded Goseravji.
