In Azerbaijan, it is announced to reduce the yield of raw cotton for 5.5 centners with 1 hectare or 16.8% compared with last year. According to preliminary data as of December 1, 271.8 thousand tons of raw cotton were handed over to the cottonary plants, 56.4 thousand tons or 17.2% less than for the comparable period of 2020, the State Committee reports statistics.
This year, the average yield with 1 hectare was 27.4 centners. Cotton was sown per 100 thousand hectares, about as much as last year. In 2020, 100.3 thousand hectares of land were allocated under cotton and 336.8 thousand tons of crop were collected.
Purchasing cost of raw cotton in Azerbaijan Practically caring: Cotton companies purchased raw cotton at a price of 550-700 manat per ton depending on the class. This year, cotton-cleaning factories have increased purchasing prices for 50 manat per ton of raw materials. The state pays cotton producers by 100 manat for each ton of raw materials sold and 260 manat – for each hectare under cotton.
