At a press conference held at Türksat, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey Abdulkadir Uraloglu commented on information about the state of the first domestic communication satellite of Turkey Türksat 6a, which was sent on the Space X spacesmodrome on Cape Kanaveral in Florida.
According to him, Turkey will crown its satellite broadcasting, which began with Türksat 1b in 1994. During this time, the country has achieved significant progress in the field of satellite and space technologies.
The Minister noted that Türksat 1b Turkish communications satellites (1994), Türksat 1C (1996), Türksat 2A (2001) were put into operation at one time and completed their service life: “We sent the Türksat 3a space in 2008 in 2008 , Türksat 4a in 2014 and Türksat 4B in 2015, we commissioned Turksat 5A in 2021 and, finally, Turksat 5B in 2022 Turksat 6A was created by Turkish engineers in the center of integration and testing systems .
He recalled that the story of Turksat 6A began with the creation of Turksat 3a as part of the technology program. According to Uralogl, the program initiated by Turksat allowed Turksat engineers to take part in the construction of 4A and 4B, as well as 3a.
Uralogl also commented on the production process of Turksat 6a.
“In 2015, we started working in USET, which was created on the basis of TAI in cooperation with Turksat and the Office of the Defense Industry. On December 26, 2016, we completed a detailed” Critical review phase. “At the end of 2018, the development of the thermal structural model was completed. We have completed the second stage of critical analysis in November 2018 and began to create an engineering model in early 2019. Thermal tests of the flight model, which we will send into space, in December 2022, then the vibrational and acoustic tests of the flight model were completed in August 2023. We completed shock trials in November 2023, final functional trials in January 2024, CII-Ey tests. -Ti-ar (Catr) in March 2024 and the measurement of mass characteristics in April 2024, thus completing all functional tests. After Türksat 6A successfully passed all the tests, we sent it to the Space X base. “
