Court allowed to delay Poroshenko

Pechersk District Court of Kiev allowed to hold the ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, reports Ukrainian News agency with reference to sources.

it clarifies that the court allowed to hold the ex-president to drive its drive to consider the application for the election of preventive measure in the form of detention.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine in turn confirmed that he intends to ask for an arrest for Poroshenko with the possibility of liberation on bail at $ 37 million, the Agency of Ukrinform reports.

The politician himself has previously expressed confidence that in open against him a criminal case about state treason there is no sufficient evidence by calling it “Madness”.

About the charges against Poroshenko became known at the end of December. Law enforcement officers suspected the ex-president in the state inspection due to the so-called “coal business”, namely buying coal from the self-proclaimed republics of the DPR and LNR in 2014-2015. According to Ukrainian legislation, these formations are recognized by terrorist organizations, so Poroshenko’s interaction with republics is regarded as financing terrorism.
