Court in Armenia refused to arrest General Khachaturov

The Anti-Corruption Court, chaired by Tigran, Davtyan, rejected the request for the arrest of the former commander of the Third Army Corps of the Armenian Armed Forces General Grigory Khachaturov, the Armenian media reported.

Khachaturov’s lawyer Akop Yenokyan noted that he had not yet managed to get acquainted with the court decision.

After familiarizing yourself with the decision, the statement will be extended.

He noted that Khachaturov was released from the courtroom, now he is going home.

The former commander of the Third Army Corps was detained after the Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan received the approval of the parliament on the criminal prosecution of the ex-defense minister Seyran Oganyan. Both former senior military are accused of fraud with the sale of the territory of two military units. Oganyan has already stated that these were old and destroyed buildings and lands that were not operated and were a source of additional expenses for the budget.
