Türkiye considers it necessary to hold accountable in international ships of the perpetrators of a large -scale humanitarian and environmental disaster in the gas sector.
This was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the 29th session of the conference of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (SOR29).

The Head of State noted that Türkiye transforms the key sectors of the economy in accordance with the vision of achieving the goal of “zero waste” and environmentally friendly development by 2053.
The Turkish leader said that the near future the country’s parliament will be submitted by the climate bill, which also includes a quota trade system for greenhouse gas emissions.
According to him, Türkiye intends to increase the installed capacity of wind and solar energy from the current 31 thousand megavatts to 120 thousand megawatts in 2035.
The President said that Türkiye nominated its candidacy for the 31st conference of the UN Climate Change in 2026.
The politician noted that by means of the Zero waste project, Türkiye makes a significant contribution to the fight against climate change. He emphasized that from the beginning of the project, 5.9 million tons of greenhouse gases were prevented into the atmosphere.
