Current President Of Croatia Is Leader In Election Of Head Of State

The current president of Croatia Zoran Milanovich in the first round of the election of the head of state gained 49.1 percent of the vote.

According to preliminary voting results, 19.4 percent of voters supported the candidate from the ruling legalist Croatian Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).

The eighth presidential elections in Croatia – the country participating in the EU and NATO held on Sunday, December 29.

According to preliminary results made in the state election commission (DIP), 99.67 percent of the vote was calculated.

If, according to the official results of the first round of voting, not one of the candidates will overcome a 50 percent barrier, two candidates who have gained the largest number of votes will fight for the president’s chair in the second round of voting on January 12.
