Customs Committee answered false charges

On the eve of some media and social networks, false information was distributed in connection with the density of trucks of trucks at the Mazimchay customs post of the Western Territorial Territorial Customs Administration on the border with Georgia. So, it is argued that overpopulation was caused by artificial barriers created by customs authorities.

It should be noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, a number of large -scale projects are being implemented to increase the export and transit capabilities of the country, the attractiveness of transport corridors through Azerbaijan. Within the framework of the steps taken in this direction, the throughput of customs posts is significantly increased. Customs and receipt points are overhaul, modern infrastructure has been built. Currently, the potential and throughput of customs posts on the border with Georgia and the Russian Federation allow you to manage existing and growing traffic flows.

The GTK noted that the cause of traffic jams is a sharp increase in the number of trucks passing through the country in recent months. And they reminded that it is possible to provide a pass of up to 1000 cars per day through two customs posts on the border with Georgia. This allows you to easily and quickly carry out the border crossing procedures for trucks entering the country according to the “transit” customs procedure.

However, the trucks passing through Azerbaijan then follow a certain route through Georgia and Turkish, and these countries are faced with certain difficulties, trying to cope with the growing stream of transport. Thus, at present, before customs posts on the Georgian-Turkish border, there is an accumulation of cars trying to enter Turkey. In addition, a large number of trucks are in line at the parking lots for trucks in Georgia to drive to Turkey. Therefore, Georgia imposes certain restrictions on the number of vehicles entering Azerbaijan.

Negotiations are underway with the relevant departments of both countries, and the problem will be resolved in the coming days.

Unreasonable statements of the customs authorities on the creation of artificial obstacles in the process of crossing the border, not based on any facts, are a manifestation of irresponsibility and bias.
