The Czech Republic does not intend to pay with rubles for Russian gas, and is also ready, under certain conditions, to refuse oil purchases from the Russian Federation by the end of 2022, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Joseph Sicel, said on Monday to journalists at the end of the meeting of ministers of the EU, overseeing energy issues.
“The Czech Republic intends to pay for gas in the euro, especially since we purchase most of it on Western European exchanges. The only Czech company purchasing gas directly in the Russian Federation is the Energy company čez, which pays and will continue to pay in euros” , – quotes the words of Sicel RIA Novosti.
According to the minister, the Czech Republic is ready to support the proposal to terminate the procurement of oil from the Russian Federation by the end of 2022 by the EU countries, if plans for joint purchases of energy raw materials and the EU are implemented by certain reserves.
“If the principle is valid that we must share this” pain “in a fair way, then I can imagine that we would support these (anti -Russian) sanctions. Czech Republic would support the proposal to abandon oil from the Russian Federation by the end of this year , if the planned joint purchases of energy and the EU will have at their disposal, reserves at their disposal, which would cover possible shortages in the European market, ”Sickela said.
