Dagestan plans to export about 30-35 thousand sheep heads to Azerbaijan and Georgia until the end of this year. About this in an interview with the Russian media reported the Acting Deputy Prime Minister Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov.
According to him, in 2019, more than 8 thousand tons of lamb were sold only in Iran, there were also supplies to Azerbaijan, Georgia and other countries. But in the last year and a half this work has stopped.
“We are now planning to ship livestock, we want 15-20 thousand heads to ship into Azerbaijan and about 10 thousand goals in Georgia,” said Abdulmuslimov, adding that deliveries are scheduled for the end of November or in December.
He assured that the sale of sheep in Azerbaijan and Georgia will not affect the prices of lamb in the republic. Food safety measures are being taken to curb prices, including fairs, where agricultural producers sell their products without intermediaries. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Dagestan, in the republic more than 4.5 million sheep.
