Daily oil production in Libya has reached a record level over the past 12 years, said Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbeyb in social networks.
He noted that the current level of production is 1 million 363 thousand barrels per day.
According to Dbeyba, this achievement is part of the strategy for the development of the country’s oil sector, which involves an increase in production to 2 million barrels per day by the end of 2025.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the growth of oil production will help strengthen the Libyan dinar in relation to foreign currencies and stabilize the national economy.
Libya, according to OPEC, has the largest oil reserves in Africa, estimated at 50 billion barrels. However, many years of political instability and the separation of the country led to periodic closures of oil fields and interruptions in prey.
