In response to the plan of US President Donald Trump to buy Greenland in Denmark, a campaign began for turning the state of California into Danish territory.
The campaign application is posted on the site “Denmarkification”.
The statement states that the goal of the campaign is to turn California into Danish territory by buying it from the United States in response to the Trump plan to acquire Greenland.
The text of the statement emphasizes that the Republican Trump does not like California, one of the strongholds of the Democrats: “Trump is not considered the largest fan of California. We are sure that he would be ready to give this place at a favorable price.”
“If Trump wants to sell California, he will sell it. Trump can do everything he will think, and the rhetoric of citizens” will not stop him, “the statement said.
The statement also addresses the issues controversial for the United States. The authors argue that in California, the rule of law, universal health care and politics based on facts can triumph in California.
Danes list such wisdom of California as warm and sunny climate, technological dominance, production of avocados, freedom and the fact that Disneyland is located on its territory, one of the most famous entertainment parks in the country. If the state is purchased, Disneyland will be renamed in honor of the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen – Andersenland.
“We will even give him Danish baking for a lifetime to sweeten the deal,” the statement said.
The campaign was supported by about 200,000 people.
