Delegation of African countries arrived in St. Petersburg to meet with Putin

Representatives of the African countries who made a “peaceful initiative” to resolve the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine, arrived in St. Petersburg to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On the eve of the African delegation met with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in Kyiv.

The delegation included the chairman of the Comorian Union of Comor Isas Azali, President of South Africa, Sirus Ramafos, President of Senegal Maki Sal, President of Zambia Hakaine Hithynem, Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbuli, as well as representatives of the Heads of the Congo and Uganda.

Africa countries directly affected by the grain and energy crisis caused by the conflict took a neutral position. In turn, the United States accuses South Africa of the support of Russia.

Meanwhile, during the meeting in Kyiv, Zelensky said that the beginning of peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia at this stage will lead to freezing the conflict. The Ukrainian leader again emphasized that Russia should withdraw troops from the territory of Ukraine.

The President of South Africa, in turn, believes that the conflict should be settled by diplomatic means.

Earlier, the leaders of the African countries made a peaceful initiative to put an end to military operations in Ukraine.
