At the plenary meeting of the Milli Majlis, deputy Rashad Makhmudov called on the government to take urgent and serious measures to solve the problem of lack of medications in the country. A deficiency of drugs creates problems for doctors, patients and general medical institutions of the country, he said.
According to Makhmudov, the reason for this situation is a violation of the supply chain due to pandemia, which appeared as a result of the war in Ukraine problems in production and complexity in the logistics of drug imports.
“All this led to an increase in medicines for medicines in the world including in Azerbaijan. Private companies are imported and sold, and quality control and price control, the structure of the Ministry of Health and tariff councils. The importers complain that from high prices in the foreign market Medical supplies, the import of some drugs has become commercially not profitable. Unfortunately, the state structures did not respond properly to stabilize the prices for medicines, ”the deputy said, urging the mechanisms of regulation of medicines in the country as part of the reforms of the healthcare system.
The colleague was supported by deputy Razi Nurullaev, who expressed bewilderment of restrictions on the import of medicines to the country by private individuals for his own treatment: “Why does one citizen have the right to bring only one box of medicine? After all, there are people who take medications during the year. People buy medicines Abroad due to high cost within the country. Sometimes the difference in price reaches five, seven times, and, of course, people are forced to buy and bring medicines from other countries. Internal prices for medications are so high that patients cannot buy them. As a result, people’s lives are reduced by several years. I myself bring parts from Turkey for acquaintances, but at customs at the airport they say that more than one box is not allowed, everything that should be more confiscated, ”Nurullaev expressed perplexity.
According to the deputy, there are two ways out of this problem: to regulate the cost of drugs in the domestic market so that it does not exceed the price of medicines in other countries by more than 100%, or to eliminate restrictions on the import of drugs that people bring for their own treatment .
