Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Sergey Boev met with representatives of analytical organizations of the United States, headed by the chairman of the analytical center KKR Global Institute, former Director of the CIA David Petreus.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the parties discussed the security situation in Ukraine, the current needs of the Ukrainian army and the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry. The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to all Americans for security and economic assistance provided by Ukraine.
“The Ukrainian side introduced the American delegation to the operational situation on the battlefield: Russia continues aggressive actions, a missile and drone terror against the civilian population, to counteract the security and defense forces,” the missiles are needed, ”the message says.
The delegations discussed the meeting in the format of Ramstein and the Munich Security Conference. The parties agreed that the calls for the unity of Europe and the increase in defense budgets are relevant, including to maintain military assistance to Ukraine. Sergei Boevs emphasized the effectiveness of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine informed David Petreus about the needs for air defense systems and missiles and missiles to them, heavy armored vehicles, ammunition, including for MLRS.
“The Ukrainian defense industry has grown more than 20 times from the beginning of a full -scale invasion, and we can produce many types of weapons on our own. However, to meet the critical needs of defense forces, we continue to count on the support of partners, including the United States,” it says in it .
The meeting participants also discussed cooperation with NATO, the importance of the start of the work of the NATO Joint Center – Ukraine for the analysis, training and education (JATEC) and the development of the NATO mission for the preparation and assistance of Ukraine in the field of security (NSATU).
The Ukrainian delegation emphasized the importance of further development of cooperation with representatives of the American defense industry in such areas as joint enterprises, innovations, exchange of technologies and licenses.
The Ukrainian and American sides agreed on the need to strengthen the defense capability of Ukraine, the consolidation of European countries before the general threat and maintain close cooperation with the United States.
