The Republic of Moldova expects to support Poland in opening negotiations with the EU. About this Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova on European integration, Christina Gerasimov stated during a telephone conversation with the Minister for the European Union of Poland Adam Slapka.
The discussion took place against the fact that on January 1, 2025, Poland accepted the chairmanship of the European Union Council for the next six months, Moldpres reports.
Vice Prime Minister congratulated the Polish authorities on receiving this mandate – the second in the history of Poland.
“We discussed the Poland chairmen program in the EU Council. We also talked about the priorities of the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova for the first half of this year. We have ambitious goals to promote in the negotiation process, and we count on the support of Poland in the opening of negotiations on the first group sections, ”said Gerasimov.
The diplomat thanked the Polish authorities for supporting the European path of the Republic of Moldova and for the solidarity manifested by Poland in overcoming the energy crisis that Moldova faced.
