According to the press service of the Presidential Administration, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation made a working visit to Mali as part of a large delegation, including business representatives.
During the meeting of Novak and President Goyta, cooperation in the field of energy, agriculture and the fight against terrorism was discussed.
Along with Mali, Novak and the delegation accompanying him visited Niger and Burkina-Faso, two other members of the Sahel State Alliance (AES).

It was noted that the country’s authorities adhere to close or coinciding with Russia positions on the issues of the global and regional agenda and advocate the formation of a more fair architecture of the world order based on international law and strengthen the central role of the UN.
In September 2023, three African countries – Burkina -Faso, Mali and Niger – created the “Alliance of the Sahel states”, after which they announced the decision to leave the economic community of Western Africa (Ekovas).
