Deputy Secretary General of UN: Hatred of Muslims contradicts human rights

Deputy Secretary General of the UN Miguel Angel Moratinos said that many Muslims around the world become victims of Islamophobia.

“The spread of Islamophobia in various countries of the world is not just a hatred of Muslims, it is a phobia,” he said to Moratinos, addressing the participants of the International Conference “Defending Diversity: the fight against Islamophobia in 2024”.

He emphasized that hatred of Muslims contradicts human rights.

According to him, that the creation of a fair world in which everyone will live in the world should be combined with intolerance.

“All religions in the world are based on compassion and mutual respect. And our duty is to protect it,” he added.
