Despite sanctions, aircraft of Russian oligarchs continue to fly in Europe

Since the introduction of sanctions prohibiting Russian aircraft flights over Europe, private sides belonging to Russian billionaires have made about 30 flights in the European airspace, the publication of Welt Am Sonntag.

For example, on February 28, aircraft of billionaire Alisher Usmanov flew out of the airports of Florence and Munich to Tashkent. In early March, the Bombardier plane with the T7-7AA registration number, registered in San Marino, flew out of Nice to Istanbul. Jet belongs to the Russian businessman Albert Avdolyan, Welt Am Sonntag points out. In April, a plane flew from the Swiss Basel to Kazakhstan with Luxembourg registration, which belonged to Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, who belonged to Forbes.

After the sanctions, at least eight flights over France made a helicopter of the Russian businessman Alexander Zanadvorov, the newspaper writes. “The execution of sanctions against business jets and helicopters registered outside of Russia and belonging to non-Russian companies is sometimes difficult due to opaque property structures,” Welt Am Sonntag Source.
