The trial of the Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk on charges of treason will be held closed in Lviv in the west of Ukraine. Such a decision was made by the judge of the Lychakovsky district court of Lviv at the preparatory meeting on Thursday, the Ukrainian edition of Grats reports in its Telegram channel.
It reports that the process over Medvedchuk began on June 15. At the preparatory meeting on Thursday, Judge Grigory Zhovnir decided to listen to Medvedchuk’s case in closed mode at the request of both protection and charges. According to the publication, Medvedchuk himself asked for the process in closed mode.
Medvedchuk, together with lawyers, participates in the process passing in Lviv, in the video conferences from the hall of the Kyiv appeal court. This format was petitioned by the Security Service of Ukraine.
