France is negotiating with the united Arab Emirates to replace Russian oil after the embargo entered into force. This was announced by the Minister of Finance of France Bruno Le mayor.
“There are negotiations with the United Arab Emirates. We need to find an alternative to Russian oil,” said Le mayor, quoted by Reuters.
On June 3, the European Union introduced the sixth package of sanctions against Russia in response to the invasion of the Russian Federation to Ukraine. In particular, Russian oil will fall under restrictions. EU countries should abandon Russian oil within six months, from oil products within eight. Hungary blocked the embargo on Russian oil, explaining this with a strong dependence on Russian energy carriers.
