Dalma Maradona, the eldest daughter of the legendary Argentine football player Diego Maradona, made accusations against medical personnel who treated her father in recent days of life.
According to her, doctors and nurses misled her and other family members, without providing reliable information about the state of Maradona.
Dalma made the corresponding statement during the court hearing in the case of negligence and non -ordering of proper medical care, which, according to the prosecution, could lead to the death of the former captain of the Argentine national team. Under the trial are doctors and employees of the medical services, watching Maradona after his discharge from the clinic.
The girl said that the room in her father’s house was completely unsuitable for treatment. According to her, “it was disgusting there, in the room it smelled of urine.” “There was a portable toilet, there were panels on the windows so as not to miss the light. There was nothing in the room at all. It was a terrible place. The kitchen was just disgusting,” added the Argentinean actress.
Dalma recalled that the doctors insisted on the treatment of the house, claiming that Maradona allegedly did not want to stay in the hospital. According to her, the family promised the round -the -clock presence of a nurse to control the pressure and administration of drugs, however, as the girl emphasized, her father did not receive the necessary treatment.
She told the judges about the moment when she first saw her father’s lifeless body. “I entered the room – he was very swollen. He was covered with a sheet, but it was visible. I rushed to him because he thought he would wake up. His face was terribly swollen, like his hands, stomach, his whole body,” the girl complains.
The daughter of the legendary football player is convinced that the death of his father could be prevented with proper care. “I miss him every day of my life, and the most painful is the realization that if the doctors did their work, all this could not have happened. To remember what he went through is still very difficult. I didn’t know the whole truth. If I understood what everything was going on, I would do otherwise. But I didn’t even think about such an outcome,” she said.
Diego Maradona died on November 25, 2020 in the city of Tigre, the Province of Buenos Aires (Argentina), from acute pulmonary edema caused by chronic heart failure.
After his death, an investigation was initiated, within the framework of which seven specialists, including neurosurgeon Leopoldo Lukke and psychiatrist Agustin Kosachov, were charged with involvement in the death of a legendary football player.
