The EU countries demanded that Serbia have a choice between Russia and the West, Serbian President Alexander Vucic said on September 10, according to the nation, Russian media reports.
In his speech, the President of Serbia commented on negotiations with the special representative of the European Union under the Western Balkans Miroslav Laichak, the Chancellor Advisor to Germany Jens Pletneer and the adviser to French President Emmanuel Bonn. According to Vuchich, during a “difficult conversation”, representatives of Western countries and Turkey said that now “everyone should decide on which side of the curtain they will remain.”
“from the side of the curtain, where the economy disappears and does not exist, or on the side of success where they are,” said the Serbian leader, without specifying how he met these requirements.
At the end of August, Vuchich once again emphasized that Serbia does not intend to impose sanctions against Russia, as required by Western countries.
