A prominent geographic scientist, the laureate of the State Prize, director of the Geography of Gasan Aliyev Institute, Academician Nana Ramiz Mamedov died at the age of 71.
According to APA in the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Ramiz Mahmud Oglu Mamedov was born on February 4, 1950 in the village of Karadzhalar Gardaban district of the Georgian Republic. In 1967 he graduated from high school, in 1972 – Faculty of Physics of Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University). Scientific activity began in 1973 in the center of the Caspian Sea of the Institute of Geography of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR.
