Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba called on international partners to overcome the fear of escalation in relations with the Russian Federation and provide Ukraine with more air defense systems, missiles and western weapons to defeat Russian air terror and get an advantage on the battlefield.
This was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on July 2 during an online trip on the panel discussion of the publication The Economist “overcoming conflicts: in search of opportunities” in Athens.
“For these two and a half years, nothing harmed our common cause as fear of escalation. We heard this every time we called for a new type of weapon, which Ukraine desperately needed to protect its people and critical infrastructure. We heard This is every time it was necessary to make an important decision: from the provision of Ukraine’s status to join the EU to other major political steps, ”the minister
said.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that in the end all decisions were made, and not one of them led to escalation from the Russian side. He recalled that, firstly, Russia itself constantly escalates the situation and does it regardless of any solutions, and secondly, “its escalation pockets are already empty.”
“My request today – believe in the ability of Ukraine to win and finally abandon the fear of escalation. Putin should be afraid of us. It should try to provide our steps. It should be careful and look for ways to stop his aggression. And not vice versa. ” – said the Foreign Minister of Ukraine.
The Foreign Minister of Ukraine also called three decisions, the adoption of which will help Ukraine and its allies fundamentally improve the situation on the battlefield.
According to him, Ukraine needs air defense, missiles to air defense systems and as many Western weapons as possible.
Firstly, the provision of more “patriots” and other air defense systems and the corresponding missiles in order to lose Russia from the Ukrainian sky. Secondly, the provision of Ukraine to destroy Russian air terror, its bombers, even before they approach Ukrainian borders – at airfields in Russia and in its sky. And thirdly, a sufficient and stable supply of artillery ammunition to provide the Ukrainian Ground Forces the advantage – summarized the US Foreign Minister.
