Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Katar Sheikh Muhammad Bin Abdurrahman Al Tanya said that allegations of the normalization of relations with the regime of Bashar al-Assad are only speculation.
The minister said this on the air of local television before a meeting of the Council of Cooperation of the Persian Gulf countries, the main theme of the agenda of which was Syria.
According to Al Tanya, the position of Qatar in relation to the Assada regime is clear. “All talk about normalizing relations with Assad regime are only speculation, there is nothing on the table of negotiations,” he stressed.
Al Tanya pointed out that without real political settlement in Syria, the position of the dog in the issue of normalizing relations with the Assad regime will not change. “The reasons why Syria’s membership in the League of Arab states are suspended remains in force,” he added.
The League of the Arab states suspended the membership of the Assad regime on November 12, 2011 due to military conflict in Syria.
