Dorin Republic: Germany – Reliable Partner Of Moldova On Way To Europe

Germany is one of the most important partners of Moldova, and friendship between the two states is durable and based on trust, respect and results.

This was stated by Prime Minister Dorin Republic during a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Berobok, Moldipres reports.

The Prime Minister thanked Germany for the constant support of Moldova and emphasized the need to maintain unity and defend “freedom and a common future in a large European family.”

The Republic drew attention to the fact that Germany is the fifth trading partner of Moldova and the seventh investor in terms of capital.

In Moldova, more than 400 companies with German capital, which provide thousands of jobs, said the head of the Moldovan government.

The Prime Minister also touched the challenges that Moldova faces. “Russia is trying to curtail Moldova from the European path that citizens chose and supported it, it wants to undermine democracy, impose people loyal to Moscow and turn our border with Ukraine into a conflict zone. In 2024, Moldova was undergoing unprecedented pressure. Before the presidential election and a referendum on EU, the Kremlin agents began a large -scale operation to bribe votes,” Narked Repno.

Prime Minister Moldova, returns that Russia spent about 200 million euros to “influence the vote and destabilize Moldova.”

“But they did not succeed. We acted quickly, decisively. We destroyed the networks of votes, mobilized citizens and defended our right to independently determine their future. Moldovans chose Europe, not the money of Moscow, not propaganda, not fear, and Europe heard us and supported our sovereignty and our right to choose its future,” said Dorin Republic.

In this context, the Prime Minister noted that in 2024 negotiations on joining the EU will officially start, and in 2025 a plan of economic growth of Moldova with financial support in the amount of 1.9 billion euros, of which 520 million are irrevocable grants, will be adopted.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers said that in 2025 Moldova will receive 200 million euros as advance financing so that the authorities can launch initiatives to modernize the country.

Both officials confirmed their support of the fair world in Ukraine. “A fair world for Ukraine is absolutely necessary both from the point of view of security and from the point of view of the economy,” Dorin Republic said.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berobok on April 2-3 is in Moldova on an official visit.

She planned meetings in Chisinau with President Maya Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Rechan. In addition, the German minister will attend a professional school, and also meet with primarys of a number of settlements of the Republic of Moldova.

This is the fourth visit to Chisinau Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Annalena Berobok for the period of her powers.
