Regular use of cocoa can protect the heart during stressful situations. Scientists from the University of Birmingham came to this conclusion, which was published in the journal Nutrients.
Specialists found out that the bean flavanides are a group of natural oxygen-containing heterocyclic compounds, gas-gamma-gamma-pyron derivatives – have a positive effect on the functions of blood vessels during the mental voltage.
“Cocoa use rich in flavanoids can be an effective way to reduce temporary disorders of the endothelial function after stress and improving blood flow during stressful episodes,” the study said.
Scientists recommended include cocoa in a daily diet, reminding that flavanoids are contained in other products: green tea, raspberry, cherry, blackberry and grapes.
