Duda: Dialogue with Russia should not be on its conditions

In Eastern Europe, it is impossible to remain a neutral state, it is necessary to support Ukraine on the path of rapprochement with the structures of the West, to help it survive in the war with Russia, President of Poland Andrzej Duda is convinced. This is reported by Ukrinform.

According to the President of Poland, he is not against dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but this should not be under his conditions. “It’s not about not talking to Putin. It is about Putin to talk, and not for European leaders to ask him about the conversation,” said the Polish leader.

According to Duda, Poland is interested in compliance with all the countries of international law, and everything is possible to do everything to force Russia to observe international law. “This means the termination of armed actions, and secondly, the full restoration (in Kyiv – ed.) Control over the territory of Ukraine, which is recognized as international law,” the Polish leader noted, adding that this is a “fundamental desire for Polish foreign policy.”

He emphasized that a hub was created in Poland, which helps to accept help from all over the world for Ukraine, in particular a military. “There are no neutral countries in this part of Europe, there is no way to remain neutral here: it should be either with the east or with the West. If Ukrainians shed blood for being with the West, then they must show that the countries of the West are opened for them The doors that society does not close from them and does not see them as part of the “Russian world,” said Duda.

He stated that the provision of Ukraine’s status of a candidate in the EU has “fundamental significance”, and Poland will support the rapprochement of Ukraine with the EU, which “should end with the full membership of the country in the European Union.

Polish President also noted that Polish diplomats in the countries of stay should convince politicians that the frozen funds of Russians should be directed to the restoration of Ukraine.
