The Council of State Duma of the Russian Federation appointed an extraordinary meeting of the lower house of the Russian parliament for July 15. According to the source of RBC in the State Duma, an extraordinary meeting of the chamber is scheduled that day at 12:00. Before that, at 10:00, another meeting of the State Duma Council will be held.
“The need for an extraordinary plenary meeting is due to the fact that issues that require an emergency decision have accumulated. Including government initiatives will be considered,” said the telegram channel of the lower house of the Russian parliament.
State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin at an emergency meeting of the Council of the Lower House of Parliament did not make full clarity, why it was urgent to collect deputies who only closed the spring session on July 6.
Kommersant, citing a source in the State Duma, claims that an extraordinary meeting is not related to war in Ukraine. The source announced the need to consider previously made government initiatives and discuss a number of personnel issues.
Note that the Duma completed the spring session five days ago, during which Russian deputies adopted 361 law. On the last day of the spring session, the State Duma adopted a number of documents, including regarding tightening legislation “in the conditions of armed conflict”.
