Dushanbe And Bishkek Discussed Bilateral Cooperation

In Dushanbe, an expanded meeting of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Head of the Administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev with the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, dedicated to key issues of bilateral interaction.

This is stated in the message of the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, one of the main issues of discussion was preparations for the upcoming tripartite meeting of the presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, planned in the city of Khujand.

The main focus of the negotiations of the heads was the restoration and further development of trade and economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized the determination of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic to continue active joint work with the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan to deepen bilateral relations and expand economic cooperation.

“I want to emphasize that the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic is firmly determined to continue joint work with the government of Tajikistan for the further development of bilateral relations and economic cooperation,” said the head of the Cabinet.

To activate cooperation in this direction, the parties discussed the possibility of establishing an intergovernmental council under the chairmanship of the heads of government of the two countries. Particular attention was also paid to the importance of further development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including support and popularization of the creative heritage of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Considering the prospects for energy cooperation, the parties noted the importance of implementing the CASA-1000 strategic project, which, by the general opinion, will unite the energy systems of the two countries, creating new opportunities for the export of electricity in the region.

The development of industrial cooperation, the resumption of regular aviation and transport communication between countries

were also affected.

The Heads of Government noted successful experience in mutual support for international initiatives, including promoting candidates for inconsistent members of the UN Security Council and the initiative of Kyrgyzstan for the proclamation of 2022 by the International Year of Sustainable Development of Mining Regions.

Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzod, in turn, emphasized the presence of significant potential for the output of the Kyrgyz-Tajik interaction to a fundamentally new level, noting a fruitful exchange of views on topical issues of a bilateral agenda, held during a meeting in a narrow format.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the results of the meeting would contribute to the further strengthening of partnerships and the expansion of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in all areas of mutual interest.
