So, a new study conducted using satellite observations by specialists from Cloud to Street, showed that the growth of the population in areas with high risk of flooding is due to the economic development of these regions.
In the period from 2000 to 2018, 2.23 million square kilometers of territories were flooded, as a result of which they were injured from 255 to 290 million people, emphasize experts.
According to Cloud to Street, due to climatic and demographic changes by 2030, floods will affect the population of 25 new countries.
