The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center recorded an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 in Romania. No information about victims and destruction was received.
The Romanian National Institute for Studies of the Development of Earth Physics said that the earthquake occurred at 16:58 (18:58 Baku time) at a depth of 13.2 km in the historical area of Oltinia in the southwest of the country in the county of the Gorge.
Earlier today, February 13, earthquakes were recorded, in particular, in the Caspian Sea (magnitude 3.4) and near the Kuril Islands (5.8). Several strong earthquakes with the epicenter in Turkey occurred on February 6. Since then, earthquakes of lesser strength throughout the world have been reported – in particular, tremors were recorded in Indonesia, Georgia and Kazakhstan.
