Golland police detained at least 100 environmental activists who broke into the runway at the Schiphol airport. This was reported by the Dutch television and radio broadcasting corporation.
Greenpeace and Extination Rebellion eco -activists broke through the fence and sat under private aircraft, preventing their take -off. Some picked themselves with chains to airplanes, others began to ride a runway on bicycles.
More than 500 people took part in the protest, but the police were able to detain only 100 activists. The action at the airport is still ongoing. There are many security forces on the spot, who delay everyone who refuses to leave the runway voluntarily.
“This has nothing to do with the demonstration. Such promotions are prohibited, dangerous and punishable,” said the mayor of the municipality Harlemmermer, which belongs to Schiphol, Marianna Kurmans.
For November 5, this is not the only protest promotion of eco -activists in Europe. In Spain, two activists glued in their hands to the frames of the paintings of the Spanish artist Francisco Goya (1746-1828) at the Prado National Museum in Madrid. Previously, similar incidents were recorded in museums of other European countries.
