Egyptian Foreign Minister Discussed With Iranian Colleague Way To Reduce Tension In Region

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdulati held a telephone conversation with the Iranian colleague Abbas Arakchi, during which he emphasized the need to avoid any steps capable of provoking further escalation in the region.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, there were current events in the Middle East in the discussion center.

Both diplomats noted the importance of maintaining stability and preventing the development of conflict.

Abdulati pointed out that in the current situation, it is especially important for the region to “show restraint and not take actions that may strengthen tension”.

The minister paid special attention to the situation in the Red Sea, emphasizing the need to ensure freedom of shipping and security in this strategically important region.

In addition, the parties discussed the situation in the gas sector.

Abdulati reported the ongoing efforts of Egypt to strengthen the ceasefire, launch the second stage of the peace agreement and contain the current escalation.
